You may have heard that we ‘recycle’ your unwanted clothes. While we do buy used clothes, we don’t convert them into something else, the way that e.g. plastic bottles are used to build roads. The clothes that we buy from our customers in England are actually being re-used elsewhere.
We send those clothes to Africa and Eastern Europe. They will be worn by real people, just like you.
Our mission is to provide our clients in Eastern Europe and Africa with good quality second-hand clothes from the UK. We don’t buy items that will pose a health risk for them, or indeed for our employees or contractors along the way. That’s why we do reject items that are not in an acceptable condition, or that are smelly, too much worn out, with holes, marks or stains. We only buy clothes that can still be worn. The vast majority of clothes we receive in our shops are in a very good condition.
